Cast iron paperweight - Japanese helmet kabuto (with cushions)
A miniature piece of Japanese tradition - cast iron paperweight in the shape of a kabuto - intricate helmet worn by warriors in feudal Japan. It can be displayed also as a original decoration in your home or office.
It is a nanbu ironware, traditional cast iron item from Iwate prefecture.
Different shapes available:
-kabuto of Tokugawa Ieyasu, has a crescent shaped decoration, and has patina in a copper shade;
-kabuto of Kusunoki Masahige is decorated with distinctive sword and bow like decoration, also in copper color;
-kabuto of Kato Kiyomasa is in a distinctive prolonged shape; it's black with bronze decorations.
Each helmet is a set with small jacquard cushion.
The strings are made of synthetic fibers.
Please note, this is a vintage item. Some hairline scratches, or a spot discoloration, might be present.
