An original home decor with a cute oriental zodiac motif. Simple shape and minimalistic decoration makes this vase fit for any kind of interior. It can be used as a New Year's decoration, or as a gift for somebody born in the year of a mouse (1984, 1996, 2008, 2020...). The vase is made of cast iron, and treated with paint to produce pleasant green and golden shades. The original coaster was stained due to its age; it was replaced by a coaster hand made of a vintage obi. It is reversible, orange on one side, and green on the other, with golden accents. The vase stands on its own, and can be displayed in any kind of manner.
There is a small plastic tag attached, with the name of the designer – Saegusa Sotaro, a renown sculptor and designer. A small leaflet with short bio of the artist is included (in Japanese).
The original paper box is stained inside due to its age. On the top there is a label with the ideogram for "mouse", the name of the designer, and the name of the metal casting workshop.
The item might be prone to rusting inside. I suggest using gel beads instead of water, or displaying dry flowers.
