A unique Japanese kimono in a vibrant purple shade. Simplified plum flowers in salmon pink and pinkish white, with some bright green accents, stand out on vivid purple background. The lining is in two shades of red, adding more bold contrast. The kimono was shortened to adjust the length to fit a child, (or maybe to make it more suitable for wearing with hakama skirt), by simply folding the fabric and stitching it together with a long stitch. The stitch can be undone, if needed, but it is not advised considering the age of the item. Please see the second last photo for the detail.
Please note, this is a vintage item, from early Shōwa period. The fabric is really delicate. There are some thinned spots, some minuscule discolored spots, slightly worn edges, and some loose threads. It still can be worn, but it will require great care while handling.
