A traditional Japanese wind chime, fuurin. These chimes are traditionally used during the summer since their sound is supposed to bring refreshment during the hot and humid season.
It is a nanbu ironware, a traditional cast-iron item from Iwate Prefecture.
On the top, there are two independently moving long, thin fish; below, there is a small bell with a net pattern. Despite its small size, it produces distinctive, clear notes. The fish are hung from a hook in the shape of a knotted rope.
The original paper strip, propelling the chime, is included.
The surface of the chime is painted black.
The paper strip is slightly damaged. Both the paper strip and the strings can be easily changed if necessary. The parts can be used separately.
