A traditional Japanese wind chime, fuurin, in an unique shape. These chimes are traditionally used during summer - their sound is supposed to bring refreshment during hot and humid season.

It is a nanbu ironware, traditional cast iron item from Iwate prefecture.
The top part is suspended on three short chains. The shape allows for placing a small flower arrangement inside. It is a decoration; it's the bellflower-like bell attached below that makes the sound. Despite the small size, it produces distinctive, clear notes. The original paper strip, propelling the chime, is included. The strip advertises an appliance and audio maker "National" (nowadays Panasonic). It has a few wrinkles and scratches on the surface. It can be easily substituted if needed.

The bell is partially rusted inside, but still sounds great. There are some specks of rust on the chain as well, but otherwise the item is in a good condition.

All the parts are detachable and can be used separately.
