A vintage hanging ikebana vase, in the shape of a crescent moon. It is suspended on a hook shaped like a monkey. This design is inspired by an old, yet still popular motif in Japanese art: a monkey reaching for a reflection of the moon on a lake.

The vase is nanbu-ware, a traditional iron casting style.
The sides of the moon are decorated with an image of wisteria flowers hanging over flowing water on one side, and just flowery branches on the other.

The hook is detachable, allowing for adjustment of the length.
The parts can be used separately. There is one monkey in the set. A small spiky insert used to secure flowers is included.
The vase can be used to display flowers, as a wall pocket, or as a unique interior decoration as well.
