Indigo blue shibori noren with floral motif - designed by Yumeji Takehisa
Original noren - a traditional curtain split in the middle, usually hung at the entrance of a restaurant or a café. It can also be used as a partition inside a house, or simply as a wall decoration.
This one is in deep blue color, with a big, white and red floral motif on one side, and a print of Yumeji Takehisa's art seal on the other. The floral design is based on the artist's work.
Yumeji Takehisa was an artist and a poet, the most famous for his portraits of beautiful women. He also designed many patterns for furoshiki, washi paper, postcards etc. A small leaflet with samples of the artist's artwork is included.
Indigo dyed cotton. The decoration is made in tie-dye technique (shibori). Red accents are cotton as well.
Size 88x88cm.
There is a channel on top of the fabric to put a curtain rail/rope for hanging.
The item comes with its original plastic wrap. It is wrinkled, but will be used as the protection of the fabric.
