A small Japanese paperweight, shaped after metal ornament from the famous Byōdō-in Temple in Kyōto. The temple is a World Heritage site, housing many art and craft artifacts. The paperweight is made of cast-iron, making it heavy despite its size. On top, there is a small opening to attach a string or ribbon. Inscribed on the back, the ideograms for "Byōdō-in Temple". It can also serve as a unique interior decoration.
The surface is painted in a pleasant mint green color. There are some signs of age, such as spots on the paint and thinning of the color. Please check the photos carefully before purchasing.
