A small Japanese paperweight, shaped after metal ornament from the famous Byodo-in temple from Kyoto. The temple is a World Heritage site, housing many art and craft artifacts.
The paperweight is made of cast iron, making it heavy despite its size. On top, there is a small opening to attach a string or ribbon.
On the back, there afe kanji for "Byodo-in jinja"
It can also serve as a unique interior decoration.

The surface is painted in a pleasant mint green color. There are some signs of age, such as spots on the paint and thinning of the color. Please check the photos carefully before purchasing.
