An adorable handbag with a thin, beaded handle, decorated with glass beads. Similar bags were poplar in Japan in the 80s and 90s among young women dressing up in kimono for official occasions, such as celebrating becoming an adult, or graduating from a university.
This one is decorated with a stylized image of a crane bird, with floral pattern on its wings. The background is made of brown beads with a purple sheen. The back of the bag is more simple, with some small flowers in the center.
Decoration is made entirely of glass beads.
The bag is lined with light beige silk. There is a small pocket inside. The metal clasp is decorated with geometric and floral motifs.
The chain is retractable - it can be put inside to turn the bag into a handheld clutch.
The bag can be worn with evening attire or more casual Western style clothing. The bag is small, but will fit a smartphone, thin wallet, and a few other small personal items. Due to its retro charm, the item will work great also as a decoration.
Despite its age, the bag is in a good condition. There are some glue and rust spots at the edges of the lining. The metal parts are blackened in a few spots. None of these flaws are immediately visible, nor affect the function of the item.
