An authentic vintage Taishogoto still perfectly working. Sometimes called Nagoya harp, this instrument was developed in the early 20th century, during Taishō era, and uses keys to change the pitch of strings.
It can be used as intended, but it will also look great as an interior decoration.
The model is called Matsu, "Pine Tree", by the well known maker Suzuki. The harp has 7 strings and is acoustic.
The main body is made of wood varnished in cherry red color. On the bottom side, there is a paper label with the name of the manufacturer, and the name of the previous owner together with the date 57.5 (May of 57th year of Shōwa era, that is 1982) written with a waterproof marker.
5 spare strings, a pick, and a soft cover made of cotton printed in a cute pattern, are included.
The harp has been cleaned only superficially. It will require some care. The keys are slightly worn. There are some small dents and scratches on the wood, and a bigger flaw on the varnish in one spot.
The case is not padded. It is missing two bottom stoppers, but is still stable. Due to its age, it has some damaged spots, the metal parts show some discoloration, and it is a bit dusty from the outside. I think it can be washed off. On the inside, the name of the previous owner is written with a sharpie.
