A unique piece to decorate your home or office, this is an iron cast copy of the helmet belonged by Yamanaka, a legendary warrior from the 16th century. The crescent moon is supposed to bring good luck, while the deer antlers hint to the second name he was known as, Shikanosuke. (Shika means deer in Japanese.)
It’s for decoration only. Not wearable.

Such figures were popular in 1970s and ‘80s, as a decoration for Kodomo no Hi, a holiday celebrating the lives and development of young boys. (Nowadays, Kodomo no Hi celebrates all children.)
The helmet is in made of cast iron, with black and copper colored oxides, to highlight the patterns and details. The crescent moon is plated with bronze. It shows some scratches and spot discoloration due to age. On the inside, the ideograms for "prize of the old castle". Maybe has been a souvenir of some kind(?)

The helmet comes with its original cushion. It is in a good state, but due to its age, some spot discoloration or fraying thread might be present. Please check the photos before purchasing.
