Collection: Kaku Obi

Kaku obi (角帯び, "stiff obi") is a type of obi for men measuring approximately 10 centimeters (3.9 inches) in width and 400 centimeters (13 feet) in length. Depending on the material, colors, and patterns, kaku obi can be appropriate for any occasion, ranging from the most casual to the most formal events. Typically, kaku obi are crafted from hakata-ori, although they may also be produced using silk pongee (referred to as tsumugi), silk gauze, and heavier brocade-style silk weaves. There are various obi knots available for the kaku obi, with the kai-no-kuchi knot being the most commonly utilized.
