A traditional Japanese wind chime, or fūrin, in the shape of a Western-style bell, decorated with delicate motif of cherry fruits on one side, and a thistle on the other. These chimes are traditionally used during summer - their sound is supposed to bring refreshment during hot and humid season.
It is a nanbu ironware, traditional cast iron item from Iwate Prefecture. Despite the small size, it produces distinctive, clear notes. The original paper strip, propelling the chime, is included.
The surface of the chime is treated to produce green shade. Two types available - with accent red paint on cherries, or without. The strings are made of cotton. The item comes with its original paper box.
