This obi is usually used to tie a tanzen, men's padded kimono, used as a protection from cold. It can also be used with a yukata. It is made of one ply of woven fabric, with unfinished ends. In the middle, there is an additional layer sewn on, creating a tiny pocket to put come money or a house key. It closes with a metal zipper.
