The set is unused. There are few scratches on the box due to the age. The set contains a leaflet in Japanese about the slate history and making. On the cover, there is a text "Calligraphy tools" and "celebrating adulthood". The set was most likely intended to be a gift for Seijin no Hi celebrations (Coming of Age Day).
