Unique handmade Japanese tapestry - kimono remake - year of the dragon
A unique tapestry hand made of dead stock yukata fabric, depicting a horned dragon among the clouds. The style resembles traditional ink painting. A perfect decoration for the Year of the Dragon!
The front is a never used, printed cotton, intended to be made into a summer yukata. The base fabric is a see-through summer kimono fabric. The tapestry is mounted on, and weighted by, two short bamboo poles. The black rope is a repurposed obijime, a decorative thin cord usually used to secure an obi. The knots are pre-made and stitched together to hold the shape. Both the rope and the bamboo poles are removable.
The tapestry is partially reinforced with some fusible backing.
Please note, this is a vintage fabric. Some spot discoloration or misprints might be present.
