Vintage kimono handbag Ōshima tsumugi - red silk taffeta with abstract pattern
An elegant retro bag worn with kimono on official occasions. It is made of the famous woven silk taffeta - Ooshima tsumugi.
Refined and chic, it will compliment not only a kimono, but also a Western - style evening attire.
The red background is decorated with abstract orange, red, and purple shapes - some of them depicting pine trees or traditional motifs, some being abstract.
The fabric is smooth and has a subtle sheen. The top clasp is synthetic, with patter resembling a tortoiseshell. It has some hairline scratches on it.
The strap can be retracted inside, turning the handbag into a clutch bag. There are some stains and marks on the lining in the spots where the hinges meet the fabric. Metal parts are a bit tarnished.
The lining is in deep green color. There are two small pockets inside, one containing a tiny mirror. It has slightly chipped edges, due to its age. The main compartment will fit a smartphone and a couple of other personal items.
Please note, this is a vintage item. The bag seems unused -it has its original paper bandeau and tag included- but some imperfections (other than mentioned above) might be present. Please check the photos before purchasing.
