Vintage Nagoya obi - wine red jacquard with various foliage patterns (B grade)
A vintage Nagoya obi suitable for both more casual, and elegant outfits.
The whole length of the obi is decorated with slightly wavy stripes in the shades of green, blue, white, and gray. Each color is speckled with fine pattern of typical Japanese foliage and flowers - such as sakura, pine trees, or bamboo, in many elegant colors. Wine red stripes of the background fabric are adorned with traditional geometric patterns. Some golden details add a bit of eye-catching shimmer.
The back is in a plain wine red color.
Nagoya is the most-used obi type today. One end is folded and sewn in half, the other end is of full width, for easier tying. Usually worn in simple taiko musubi style.
Width 31cm
Length ca 345cm
Please note, this is a vintage item.
There is some yellow stains on the lighter parts of the obi. These are not immediately visible thanks to the busy pattern. Please see the photos for the details.
Some other minuscule flaws, such as some discoloration of the fabric, or some fabric imperfections might be present. Due to these flaws, the price of the obi is reduced.
